About Us
Mission
The harmful effects of environmental pollution on human health & ecosystem are being focused as important research areas at national and global level. Mutagenesis is the biological response in the genome after exposure to environmental toxicants and stressors. Therefore the overall mission of EMSI is to promote scientific education and research in the field of mutagenesis and to provide a scientific forum for persons who are engaged or are interested in research, education and applications of knowledge on (a) Mechanisms of mutagenesis,
(b) Mutagenicity as related to carcinogenicity and teratogenicity,
(c) Testing Methodology,
(d) Evaluation of mutagenicity of chemicals and drugs,
(e) Correlation of chemical structure with mutagenicity;
Further to disseminate information on these aspects; and to stimulate scientific interest in and promote the ex- change of ideas and information about problems of mutagenesis at the experimental and clinical level.

EMSI CONSTITUTION
* Amendment of the Rules and Regulations may be proposed by any member of the Society setting out clearly the reasons for the same.* Any request for amendments of Rules and Regulations shall be submitted to the Secretary at least 15 days prior to the proposed date of General Body Meeting.
* The Rules and Regulation may be amended by the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of those present and voting, at the General Body Meeting.
* Notwithstanding what is stated above, the name of the Society or its objectives can be changed only by following the provisions of Sections 12 and 12A of the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
